I guess I could pose this question differently: What is the difference between dream therapy and psychoanalyses?

But seriously, dream therapy is not nearly as intense as psychoanalyses. With analyses, you free-form thoughts as they arise. With dream therapy, you are concentrating on something you've already experienced and had time to look over before you present it to someone else.
Now, if you are thinking that dream therapy and emotional therapy have something in common, you're closer to the truth than comparing dream therapy to psychoanalyses. Emotional therapy can be performed by anyone with a little bit of experience. Psychoanalyses is the realm of the PhD's.

Re: How to approach dream *therapy*
Wed, February 2, 2005 - 8:40 PMIn dream therapy you use Jungian approach instead of biological drives that are explored in psychoanalyses.
Everything is alive in a dream and everything is you. You can see some archetypal unfolding and progress with a dream to a place that was calling you while you were sleeping.
You can combine art therapy approach to a dream therapy as well.
