Dreaming?

topic posted Mon, June 28, 2004 - 3:05 PM by  Wendy
I've had several very active dreaming nights in a row where I might actually be awake but still dreaming or maybe I'm awake enough while still dreaming to ponder my dreams while I'm having them and ask questions and change the direction of the dream to go where my thoughts go. It's sort of a sleep/dream/wake up/notice the dream/think about it/fall back asleep/wake up again pattern. It's a bit like when I don't want to wake up in the morning and can't tell if I'm still dreaming or I've actually gotten my ass out of bed for real and everything seems disorienting and foreign. Only instead of it happening in the morning, it's been happening in the middle of the night.

Just thought I'd share. I don't really have a question, but perhaps someone will have a comment.

    Greetings, Wendy

    WOW. This must leave you feeling many ways at once. I suggest there might be a theme for you here, and that as strong a person as you might be in whatever ways, your dreams are demanding attention, telling you they are hungry.

    Sounds like you're a walker between worlds from time to time.

    I'm glad you have the verve to get in here with it! Not to knock those of you who havn't shared. This is tough to remember, much less express and even harder to share if you're not the boldest type.

    This post reminds me of the Native American spiritual theme of dreaming while you're awake. They thought the spirit actually went to its more timeless home whilst sleeping, and that our waking time here occurs whilst our spirit is in essence asleep, giving us a higher capability for expression, choice and autonomy (in every aspect) here in this shell on this spinning rock. Perhaps this is their version of the common theme of "God's" (However you define it or don't) gift of freedom of choice. We all feel dissconnected from our bodies at times.

    May your mysteries unfold before you.

      Wendy;

      Dreams have a way of allowing us to communicate to the higher brain centers/ astral planes of existance/ other worlds. Whichever veiw you take, it's a definite mode of communication with someone/something that knows more than we do.

      When you can dream as you have described (almost lucid dreaming) you find that you can control what is going on in the dream to a certain extent if you try. When you can do that, expect your psyche to shift into greater modes of awareness. You will simply "know more" than you previously expected to know. You may find yourself taking wild guesses at game show questions and being correct, figuring out intricate social situations without much pre-thought, and silly little shit like that...:-).

      Its your brain, so have fun with it. That's why we have a brain in the first place; the best toy in the universe.
